I have a leaking steering box on 1965 mustang. No t sure how old it is. i am thinking replace vs rebuild. my question is do i need to remove steering column and shaft to remove gear box?
Apr 29, 2022, 13:39You should be able to disconnect the rag joint form the steering box and remove and replace it without moving the column.

I would like to replace the factory p/s on my 64 Comet, column shift, V8. Can I still use the Ford pump, or will I need a GM style pump, or do you need pulley diameters and so forth>
Apr 18, 2022, 08:01Column shift installations on a Comet / Falcon can be very difficult due to the need to shorten the column back to the fire wall. The Ford pump will likely be fine provided you have a close to stock tire size and front end weight.

Hello, I want to convert my 1963 Ford Falcon HT with factory power steering. I have recently converted to a factory manual steering setup but might want to go back to power steering using your system. Car has 260 V8 with v-belt crank for three belts and 4-speed. Will be converting to hydraulic clutch for steering box clearance. Existing 1-1/8" Pitman shaft. What parts do I need to order (box, gm style pump, hoses, linkage, etc.)? Thanks.
Apr 11, 2022, 08:41You would need the following components for your application: Box #800110, Pump Kit #800330, Hose Kit #925108 and coupler #312500, your existing manual steering linkage can be used with our box.

Does the firewall have to be cut to allow room for the rag joint on 1965 Ford Falcon Ranchero’s?
Mar 29, 2022, 07:57We have not done an in-house installation on the Falcons. We do know that column shift installations will be very difficult. Cutting of firewall can be avoided using a straight coupler like #312500 however the straight coupler will allow some hydraulic noise to pass through to the steering wheel.

Hello, I wanted to convert my 1963 Ford Falcon with factory power steering to your complete kit. Car originally had V8/column shift, but has been converted to floor shift. Also, I am running a 302 SBF with v-belt pulley. Please help me understand what parts I need to order (box, gm style pump, hoses, linkage, etc.)
Jan 17, 2022, 11:33For you Falcon we will need to know the pitman shaft diameter in order to get you the correct steering box. Falcons used both 1" and 1-1/8" diameter pitman shafts. Be sure to measure at the top of the spline near the casting. Once we have this information we can get you a list of the needed items.
