I purchase your 1-in 48-spline to 3/4-in 30-spline Rag Joint to replace my worn out Steering column 1-in 48 spline Rag joint. I received it yesterday and tried to install it on my steering column shaft and it wouldn't fix. I rotated the rag joint to multiple position to install it on the steering column shaft end, but it wouldn't slide on no matter what. I did feel like the center opening of your rag joint wasn't round, but it felt warped. Is there an issue with the open of the rag joint which slide on the steering column shaft being out of round? What should I do to install your rag joint on the steering column shaft end? Is this a known problem, or I'm the old customer with this issue? I'm overseas service with the US Army and just can't run to the local auto-parts store to return or buy this again. It took two weeks to arrive and my vehicle is currently non-operational which I need to get inspected soon. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 1"48 spline is very unforgiving for any defects, build up or corrosion on the shaft as it has a large amount of surface area. You will likely need to clean up the splines on your shaft with a small square edged file. It is not possible for the joint to be out of round or undersized as the parts are broached with the same tool and the tool passes all the way through the part to cut the spline.
